THE CLAWS IN THE MARSH. THE RED-EYED HUNTER. THE NIGHT THRASHER.
South Carolina’s Scape Ore Swamp hides something that doesn’t belong. The Lizard Man — seven feet tall, bipedal, scaled, and mean — burst onto the scene in the 1980s, tearing into cars and terrifying locals.
With glowing red eyes, clawed hands, and a taste for destruction, the creature left behind deep scratches, mangled metal, and muddy three-toed tracks. Eyewitnesses described it as impossibly fast — and smart enough to disappear before anyone got close.
Real or not, something thrashed those cars. Something watched from the tree line. And in Bishopville, they still don’t go near the swamp after dark.
If your headlights catch red eyes in the fog — don’t stop.
